;How to Take Care of Your Dog

There are several individuals who have grown up with dogs and are quite familiar with the various routines needed to keep them safe and sane. However, there are also a handful who have never experienced caring for a pet firsthand. Some of these may even have fears on how to properly set their Howard miller clocks to start house training right away first thing in the morning. You can learn the ropes by following a few simple rules on smart dog care.

1. On housetraining. It is important that you begin housetraining as soon as your new dog steps out of the car. It does not matter if you are bringing home a 5-month old or a 5-year old, since elder dogs can still be trained when and where to do their thing. Once your new dog gets home, bring him or her immediately to the area where you will officially assign as the waste spot.

Observe your dog sniffing his way around and wait until he successfully finishes his business. Do not leave the area or let him inside the house until he does so. If you have been looking at your Howard miller floor clock with no results, you can take your dog in, then take him out again after 10 to 15 minutes to try again.

2. On feeding. Dogs can be fed 1 to 2 times per day. Puppies or those below 6 months of age, however, will need to be fed 3 times per day. Choose good quality dogfood that is complete with vitamins and minerals, and also having enough protein and fat content to support growth and other activities.

Make sure you set your Bulova clocks in advance, so that you feed your dog at the right and concise times each day. Allow your dog 20 minutes to finish his meal. If he does not touch the food, take it away after 20 minutes and feed him again on his next scheduled meal. I personally prefer feeding at 6 am and 6 pm. There are surely times when my dog never gets to eat in a single day. It might sound cruel but the truth is, you are actually helping your pooch develop healthy eating habits for the long term.

Avoid giving him too many treats or table scraps, since these may change his taste, thereby rendering dogfood tasteless and unsavory. You can walk your dog 30 to 45 minutes each day too, to keep him tired and hungry at the end of the activity.

3. Exercise. Physical activity is very important for every dog to gain muscle, keep strength and endurance and for a healthier disposition. Bone and joint problems can develop, especially among older dogs, if they are not exercised regularly. Spend time to jog, skate or walk with your dog first thing in the morning or before you go to bed at night.

Make it a point to get your dog socialized with his other furry friends. You will have a more manageable pet, if he knows how to deal with people and other animals in a friendly manner.
